From 2-6 October 2023, a short-term adult training was held in Zagreb (Croatia) organized by REGEA. Representatives from each of the partner organizations attended, as well as young adults from Austria, Croatia, Greece, Poland, and Slovenia.
The training provided an excellent opportunity to collaborate and exchange experiences on energy and sustainable development initiatives. The main objective was to transfer new knowledge and strengthen the competencies of the representatives of the project's target group in the field of energy literacy, through a presentation of the results so far and a presentation of the interactive e-course which is under development which is a key result of the project.
E-course will consist of four topics:
- Introduction to energy literacy
- Energy use and green deal objectives
- Energy-related investments, incentives and subventions
- Positive energy-related behaviours and habits
Participants took part in discussions for several days. They tested the e-course in practice, doing all the proposed tasks and quizzes, giving the project partners many constructive comments and suggestions. This will allow the partners to improve the course to make it a useful tool to promote and shape changes in habits among young people related to the use of energy in everyday life.
In addition, representatives from REGEA, which hosted the training, made presentations during the training. They introduced participants to topics such as investing in solar power plants and how to empower citizens to develop and invest in renewable energy sources. Young adults from the partner countries also had the opportunity to share their experiences and good practices related to energy efficiency and behavioural change implemented in their represented institutions. All participants also had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the cities, visit the Nikola Tesla Museum and taste local cuisine at a joint dinner at the end of the training.
Participants gained skills and knowledge that they can pass on to educate and inspire more people to create a safe and sustainable future.
